Buyer Protection: Escrow

What is escrow?

Escrow is a deposit of funds by one party for secured delivery to another party upon completion of a particular condition or event. In the case of online purchase a buyer makes payment to a third party. Beltal plays such a third party role. When the buyer confirms merchandise acceptance, Beltal will then release the payment to the seller.

Why do I need escrow?

It's just safer! Beltal reduces potential risks of fraud by acting as a third party that collects, holds and releases funds on the buyer's behalf.

How the buyer is protected:

  • Beltal tracks the shipped merchandise and verifies if it is delivered;
  • If disputes occur, Beltal will be there to help both the buyer and the seller in finding a reasonable resolution that both parties could accept;
  • The seller isn't paid until the buyer accepts the merchandise.

What if a seller offers to sell me something directly, bypassing Beltal?

If you receive offers from the seller to trade directly without going through Beltal, we suggest you not accept and notify us as soon as possible. If you accept direct transaction with a seller, you will have no one to turn for help when you do not receive your item or are not satisfied with it. Beltal cannot help you get an trade-off or refund if you choose to forgo our services in a transaction. With our Escrow Service, the payment will not be released until we confirm that you are satisfied with your purchase.
