Spam (Unsolicited Commercial Email) - Overview

Spam is not permitted on Beltal.

Spam is email that is both unsolicited and commercial in nature.

  • Unsolicited: The email has been sent without the permission of the person who receives it
  • Commercial: The email discusses buying, selling or trading of goods or service

Violations of this policy may result in a range of actions, including:

  • Listing cancellation
  • Limits on account privileges
  • Account suspension

Some examples of spam include:

  • Unsolicited email offers to potential buyers for items that are the same or similar to items a member is interested on or has purchase on in the past
  • Email sent to a member from a mailing list without the member' s explicit permission
  • Direct or stand-alone invitations to join a mailing list
  • Email sent using the 'Contact Beltal Member' link on the Beltal Web site to send unsolicited commercial offers
